VIDEO. 80 years since the Landing: follow the commemorations live

This Thursday, June 6, marks the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Follow live the commemorations in the presence of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron and the main Western leaders.

This Thursday, June 6, the anniversary of D-Day, the commemorations will begin with the traditional ceremony at the British memorial in Ver-sur-Mer (Calvados). ) in the presence of Emmanuel Macron and King Charles III & from 10:20 a.m. The Head of State will follow with a ceremony at the American cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer with his American counterpart , Joe Biden à 12:30 p.m.

International Ceremony & Omaha Beach à 3:30 p.m.

In the meantime, always to pay tribute to the forces which played a crucial role in the success of the D-Day landings, a Canadian ceremony will be held at the Landing. Courseulles-sur-Mer, in the presence of the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

This afternoon, the international ceremony will be held at Omaha Beach to honor the soldiers of different nations who fought together, from 3:30 p.m. Joe Biden, Prince William for the United Kingdom, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Pr& Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be present, as will many heads of state and government.
