Last night, during the launch of its WWDC conference, Apple lifted the veil on macOS Sequoia, the new version of its operating system for computers. And in addition to Apple Intelligence, which is arriving this fall on compatible Macs, the Cupertino company also presented some interesting new features. For example, on macOS Sequoia, Apple offers iPhone Mirroring, which will allow you to control the iPhone from a Mac screen. This will allow you to open apps, search for files, etc. remotely while iPhone is locked.
Apple also offers a new app to manage passwords and access keys. And on macOS Sequoia, Safari has a new feature based on artificial intelligence that can help users save time when searching for information on the internet. On its website, the Cupertino company has published the list of machines that will be compatible with the macOS Sequoia update.
Here is this list of Macs, MacBooks and iMacs who will be able to receive the macOS Sequoia update when it becomes available this fall:
- iMac 2019 or newer
- Mac Studio 2022
- 2019 Mac Pro or newer
- iMac Pro 2017 or newer
- 2020 MacBook Air or newer
- 2018 Mac Pro or newer
< li>2018 Mac mini or newer
Apple Intelligence will not be available on all devices
Note that certain computers launched before the transition of Macs to Apple Silicon chips are therefore still compatible with the macOS Sequoia update. However, to be able to take advantage of Apple Intelligence, which brings together Apple's new features in terms of generative artificial intelligence, you will need to have a machine with an Apple Silicon chip (so, at least, the M1 chip).
As a reminder, here is the complete list of iPhones, iPads and Macs compatible with Apple Intelligence (which will be beta tested, in English, this fall):
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPad Pro with M1 chip or newer
- iPad Air with M1 chip or newer
- MacBook Air with M1 chip or newer
- MacBook Pro with M1 chip or newer
- iMac with M1 chip or newer
- Mac mini with M1 chip or newer
- Mac Studio with M1 Max chip or newer< /li>
