A fire devastates a building in the Quartier des spectacles in Montreal

Firefighters had their work cut out on Saturday morning to put out a major fire that ravaged an empty building in the Quartier des spectacles in Montreal.

The fire broke out in a three-story building on Saint-Dominique Street, said George Bele, spokesperson for the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM).< /p>

The first call came in around 4:20 a.m. By 8:15 a.m. the fire was almost completely contained, but it required the intervention of more than 100 firefighters on the scene after a 5th alarm, the highest, says Mr. Bele.
