Manitoban considered ; as armed and dangerous is wanted by the RCMP

Byron Duck, aged 31, is wanted in linked to shots fired in Bloodvein First Nation early Tuesday morning, according to RCMP.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are asking members of the Bloodvein First Nation in eastern Manitoba to stay away x27;inside and lock their doors, as the search for Byron Duck takes on a national scale.

The 31-year-old suspect is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and is considered armed and dangerous, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday afternoon. He also allegedly violated the conditions of his release, authorities say.

RCMP were informed shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday that gunfire had been heard in Bloodvein First Nation, about 200 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg.

A man allegedly appeared outside a residence, fired shots and fled, the release states.

Around 2:30 a.m., the RCMP was informed that shots had been fired near a second residence, says Sergeant Paul Manaigre, RCMP spokesperson. No injuries were reported, he said.

We believe the shots were fired in the air and were not aimed at anyone, he said. Byron Duck has been identified as a suspect in connection with these incidents.

RCMP Emergency Response Team , canine units and drones are currently looking for him, according to Paul Manaigre. So we have a significant police presence that the community is not accustomed to.

A residence was searched after police were notified that the shooter could have been hiding there, but there was no trace of his passage, according to the RCMP.

Byron Duck is 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m) tall and weighs 150 pounds (68 kg). He has black hair and brown eyes.
