The last one in this internet box comparison is the “Sosh box”. Sosh is the low-cost, no-obligation subsidiary of the operator Orange. This offer is flexible – you have much more flexibility than with a Livebox – especially since the Sosh box will cost you much less. It is therefore a good compromise on all levels. Like its rival RED by SFR, Sosh wanted to develop a single formula, very simple to understand.

Above, we presented to you the easiest (and popular) internet box from SFR, the SFR Fiber Box. That said, this offer is limited on several points, which can be annoying in certain cases. For those who need better speed for more TV channels or mobile calls, there is an alternative: the SFR Fiber Premium Box.

This formula is the most premium available at SFR. It includes very high speed (up to 8 Gb/s download and 1 Gb/s upload), unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles, Netflix, Disney+ as well as 200 TV channels. This offer is €33.99 per month for the first year. If it is not placed in our comparison of the best internet box, it is because it is aimed at a niche clientele.

Explore the Bbox range of Bouygues Telecom

Earlier on this page, we presented Bouygues Telecom's most popular internet box: the Bbox Fit. If the formula is more than sufficient for a majority of customers, we can still see some weak points. The main thing is that it doesn't offer 'triple-play', so you won't have TV. You will therefore have to go for one of Bouygues Telecom's more premium offers to take advantage of it.

Outside of our comparison, we also find the Bbox Must and Bbox Ultym. The first is in the middle of the range, and it is already very complete. It includes fiber with very high speed (1 Gb/s download), unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles as well as 180 channels. It is more complete than the simple Bbox Fit, but it is also more expensive.

Freebox and the wide range

A major player in the revolution around internet access, Free has evolved its range in recent years. In 2019, it hit hard by unveiling two ultra premium offers, the Delta and Delta S. These boxes are intended to be among the most complete and efficient on the market (with an optional TV receiver/premium speaker resulting from a partnership with Devialet), but they are also very expensive. Many people don't see the point of having so many features in a box. Basically, an internet box is mainly used to… have internet.

Today, the Freebox Pop represents the best value for money of all internet boxes, without the slightest doubt. In 2023, the French are rather well off in terms of internet boxes. We find everything in terms of features and services as well as prices and speeds. As far as possible, we recommend that you favor fiber access which not only delivers a high speed (at least 500 Mb/s or even 1 Gb/s downlink) but as a bonus offers a more stable connection method than technologies such as l& #8217;ADSL. The latter is in decline.

Not all operator boxes offer the same benefits and services. And it's worth considering whether you really need all the included services. For example at Free, the Freebox Delta comes with a high-end Player designed with the French company Devialet. But other boxes from the same operator such as the Freebox Mini 4K or the Freebox Crystal deliver essentially the same thing, for a significantly lower price.

At the operator SFR on the other hand, you can choose between different box models including one with Wifi 6. This wireless connectivity allows better quality, more stable connectivity on compatible devices – and delivers speeds closer to the maximum of your residential access.
